Cookies Policy

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Alongside them I use similar technologies — chiefly your browser’s local storage, where your consent decision is kept. Below is exactly what is stored and why.

Until you give consent, only what is strictly necessary to display the page is active. Analytics and advertising measurement start only after your decision.

• Strictly necessary — needed to display the page correctly and to remember your consent decision (the cookie-consent-v2 entry in your browser’s local storage, valid for 12 months). No consent is required for these, because without them the banner would ask you on every visit.
• Analytics — Google Analytics 4: the _ga and _ga_* files used to count visits and see which content gets read. The standard lifetime is up to 24 months. Stored only with your consent.
• Advertising — Google Ads: the _gcl_au file (standard lifetime up to 90 days) and the ad click identifier (gclid, wbraid, gbraid) kept in your browser’s local storage for 90 days. They make it possible to link a submitted form to a click on a specific ad. Stored only with your consent.

The website uses two Google tools: Google Analytics 4 (visit statistics) and Google Ads (advertising performance measurement). Both run in Google’s consent mode — Consent Mode v2. Until you decide, the ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage signals are set to denied: the tags store no identifiers on your device, and Google receives only an identifier-free record of the event. Once you consent, the signals switch to granted and only then are the files described above created.

If you consent to advertising cookies and submit the contact form, an irreversible hash (SHA-256) of your email address and phone number is sent to Google as part of so-called enhanced conversions. The hash is computed in your browser before the data leaves your device and serves only to match the enquiry to an ad click — the plain values are never transferred this way. Without consent to advertising cookies no hash is sent at all.

Both tools are provided by Google Ireland Limited. The scope and legal grounds of this processing are described in the privacy policy.

On your first visit you will see a banner with three equally available choices: “Accept all”, “Reject all” and “Analytics only”. Refusing is as easy as consenting and does not limit access to the content.

You can change your decision at any time with the “Cookie settings” button in the footer — it reopens the same banner and lets you withdraw consent. Withdrawal applies going forward and does not affect the lawfulness of what happened earlier. A saved decision is valid for 12 months, after which you are asked again; clearing site data in your browser also erases it.

Independently of that, you can block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may then not work fully.
